THE WATER IN THE FISH TANK
The water in the fish tank. This is the image that comes to mind when talking about two challenges: how to help people to learn faster and how to get many different people working in several different shifts to work in the same way. The answer was to standardize the ecosystem around people, or the water in the fish tank! This is the way we do it at IKEA Industry Portugal, having the “IKEA Production System” (IPS) as a solid foundation and as the way forward for improvement.
